Joshua M. Greene, M.D.
Joshua M. Greene, M.D. is a board certified ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery.
Dr. Greene was raised in Philadelphia and received his BS in Ecology and Evolution from the University of Pittsburgh, where he graduated magna cum laude. He was admitted to several academic honor societies as an undergraduate including Golden Key, Tri-Beta and Alpha Epsilon Delta, for distinguished pre-medical students. He received his MD from Temple University School of Medicine where he was a member of the Medical Outreach Society. He did his Medical Internship at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, followed by Ophthalmology Residency at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, NY, where he was Chief Resident from 2004-2005. Following residency, he did a Surgical Retina fellowship at Indiana University.
He is a member of the Pennsylvania Medical Society, the New York Ophthalmological Society, the Long Island Ophthalmic Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Medical Association. He is now specializing in Retinal care, including all of the latest medical and surgical treatments for diabetic retinal disease and macular degeneration, and is a Clinical Associate in Ophthalmology at the Scheie Eye Institute, University of Pennsylvania. He also spent his first year in practice as the Director of Vitreoretinal Surgery at the VA Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. His research has yielded several published articles, in addition to presentations at the American Society of Retina Specialists in New York and San Diego. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
